Diary:
Matthias unfortunately M.I.A. due to muscle and joint pain, but don’t worry the Lohners were strongly represented by the one and only Heinrich (@happpyharry - twitter). Shortly after starting to walk at 07:15 we had the brilliant idea of a shortcut through the woods without a path. We followed our instincts and the compass, the result was saving about 20 minutes at the cost of severe injury through Brennessel and Dornenbusch. We had felt the sweet taste of adventure and couldn’t resist trying another shortcut at around 09:00. This time however was far more successful, nobody was injured and we saved 1 hour, that felt like 4 hours. Temperatures around 30 degrees celsius made today a tough one, eventhough it was comparably short. Today the plan was to walk along a scenic bicycle trail, but when we looked at our map we found out that the carinthian bicycle trails are one with the main roads, so it wasn’t all that scenic. At 12 o’clock we met Matthias for Lunch in Mösel, where he had been waiting for us to come and installed a fabulous buffet with music. Thanks for the brilliant lunch break Matthias. Valerie was responsible fort he absolute highlight of the day, when she managed to collect a donation of 10 euros for our project from a complete stranger. Well done Valy! Shortly after this great success we arrived in Lölling Graben at 13:44, the first time before 14:00. Yay!
We are sad to inform you, that tomorrow will be the first day since the beginning of this walk without a Lohner representative. Good bye to Matthias the (m)athlete and Heinrich the faithful.
Sorry, only one picture today, the internet here is very slow, apparently due to the heavy rain in the afternoon, we will post the rest tomorrow!
Good night!
